Assistant Professor - Instructional (Non-Tenure Track) in Italian

The Department of French, German, Italian and Slavic of Temple University is pleased to invite applications for a one-year, Non-Tenure Track Assistant Professorship in Italian. Applications are sought from candidates with preparation and experience in technology-assisted instruction and evidence-based foreign language pedagogy. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching Italian language and culture courses at all levels; teaching literature and cultural studies courses taught in English and General Education courses.

The candidate should demonstrate evidence of outstanding commitment to undergraduate teaching, evidence of best pedagogical practices at the undergraduate level, and enthusiasm about motivating our students to continue with their studies in Italian. A Ph.D. in hand by August 2022 is required.  The candidate selected for this position should have native or near-native fluency in Italian and English and must meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin. The normal teaching load is 11-12 credit hour per semester (3 or 4 courses). Competitive salary and benefits. Applications will only be accepted through Interfolio.
