Job Summary

The Applied Computer Science program in the College of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Colorado Boulder invites applications for full-time Assistant Teaching Professor (Instructor) positions. These positions will support the fully-online Applied Computer Science program within the Department of Computer Science and the fulfillment of the department’s educational mission by teaching computer science courses at CU Boulder.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Assistant Teaching Professors are responsible for teaching 8 courses across three semesters per year, mentoring undergraduate students, and providing oversight to the undergraduate curriculum.

This is a non-tenure track appointment; the successful candidate will likely be appointed as an Assistant Teaching Professor (Instructor) on the Computer Science faculty. The position will report to the Director of the Applied Computer Science program.

What We Can Offer

These positions are 12-month contractual appointments. The annual salary range for this position is $93,000.00 - $133,000.00.

This position has the opportunity for a remote or hybrid work environment. Relocation may be available.

What We Require

 

 

  • Candidates should have a completed M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field.
  • Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to high-quality undergraduate education in a year-round environment. Applicants are required to have a knowledge of at least one of the following areas of computer science: data structures, databases, software engineering, cybersecurity, computer systems, or programming languages. Knowledge may have been obtained during graduate studies. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in online teaching.
  • The program uses the C++, Python and Scala programming languages. Candidates must highlight their experience in these areas.
