The Opportunity:

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's Enrollment Management division is looking for a Marketing Communications Specialist to support the team at our Daytona Beach Campus or our. The Marketing Communications Specialist is a vital member of the enrollment marketing team responsible for creating and overseeing the creation of prospective student related communications including individual and mass communication, email marketing, and print materials. The Marketing Communications Specialist works collaboratively with internal stakeholders to create communication strategies and materials to meet marketing needs. He/She interfaces with digital, social media and creative services team members on cross team initiatives. He/She works with internal stakeholders to determine needs, establish goals and assess viability of requests. When requests require print or digital resources, he/she works with the appropriate marketing team members. The Marketing Communications Specialist is responsible for working with the Digital Communication Specialist to write email copy, collect email assets and design emails within our email-marketing platform. He/She works independently to source student, faculty, and alumni success stories, creates written materials including blog posts, newsletters, and articles, and determines the proper channels for distribution. The Marketing Communications Specialist is responsible for maintaining degree specific playbooks, content databases, communication flows and other collections of materials. The Marketing Communications Specialist should have a strong marketing and communications background, expertise with Microsoft Applications and a familiarity with Salesforce and Marketing Cloud.

Responsibilities include the following:
  • Creates and oversees the creation of marketing materials in conjunction with other enrollment marketing team members. Interfaces with an array of internal stakeholders on a variety of prospective student marketing requests.
  • Sources student, faculty, and alumni success stories. Creates written materials including email copy. Proofreads and edits materials written by others.
  • Maintains degree specific playbooks, communication flows and other databases/collections of materials.
  • Independently researches and recommends new strategies for increasing prospective student interest and engagement. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing or a related field is required; Master's degree is preferred.
  • Demonstrated skill in writing and editing with an eye for detail.
  • Experience in a range of marketing mediums/platforms including print, email, digital, and social media. Experienced with Microsoft operating systems, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook/email, and internet end-user applications.
  • Familiar with Salesforce and Marketing Cloud.
  • Experience with designing, building and executing emails using an online platform (like Marketing Cloud).
  • Ability to make sound editorial decisions and judgement calls based on prospective student recruitment lifecycle as well as university policies and goals.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with administration, staff, students, and alumni. Is able to think outside of the box and to be innovative and not limited by existing methods and procedures.
  • Independent worker and self-starter who can successfully perform in a collaborative, team environment. Highly organized, deadline oriented, and a skilled communicator.
  • Must possess a professional attitude, positive spirit, and provide excellent customer service to co-workers, staff and other constituents.
  • Strong grasp and understanding of principles of writing and report preparation; spelling, grammar, punctuation.
  • Self-motivated, but able to seek guidance and direction as necessary.
