We are currently seeking to fill our Assistant Director, Campus Security and Public Safety position at the Philadelphia campus with a highly qualified and passionate individual.

SUMMARY:

Assists the Director of Security and Public Safety with overseeing all aspects of the Department on the Philadelphia Campus including three (3) Health Care Centers and an apartment building.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the direction of the Director of Security and Public Safety provides supervision, direction and oversees contract security staff personnel. Responsible for providing security and safety services to the college and for the protection of life and property within the college community.

Ability to remain calm and poised with a high degree of emotional security, even under provocation.

Provides and assist input to Director regarding the preparation of the College and Department policies and procedures that are relevant to security, safety, fire protection, planning, etc.

Assist, in conducting annual safety training for students, faculty, and staff members.

Report all serious incidents to the Director of Public Safety in a timely manner

Be available 24/7 to respond and report to campus for serious incidents.

Supervise and assist Allied Account Manager with daily deployment and security operations

Assist in maintaining the Department of Public Safety equipment and vehicles.

Assist in planning, coordinating, and implementing safety logistics plans for campus events

Assist Director in overseeing Active Shooter, Shelter in Place, Evacuations, Lockdown, Bomb Threat security drills.

Other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge of security and law enforcement principles and procedures and concepts of supervision.

Ability to work within a college environment during stressful and emotional situations.

Must possess tact and diplomacy.

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing within a college environment.

Works flexible hours and maintain on-call status.

Sufficient previous supervisory administrative experience with proven managerial skills in security.

Knowledge of Security systems, procedures, and enforcement codes.

Demonstrates effective communication skills. Word, Excel, Office software, and analytical skills

Education

Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice or related field required.

Minimum of 10 years law enforcement, college/university, corporation or combined experience.

Physical Demands

Frequent prolonged standing/walking

Supervisory Responsibility

Type of Supervision: Supervision of contract security personnel.
