The Department of English and Communications at Norwich University seeks an outstanding colleague for a tenure-track assistant professor in strategic communication. The typical course load for this full-time, 9-month position is 4/3. An August 2022 start date is planned.
The selected candidate will teach undergraduate classes on, and have conceptual and professional expertise in, the following areas: branding and advocacy; public relations; social media marketing; and digital marketing, strategy, and analytics.
The successful candidate will play an exciting role in updating and developing the communication program's curriculum to include contemporary and innovative approaches to all areas of strategic communication. Opportunities exist for interdisciplinary curriculum development with programs including Architecture, Art, Business, Cybersecurity, English, and Criminal Justice. Ideally, the successful candidate will have a strong interest in building collaborations with partners, like these, across the university.
Additional responsibilities include advising students, program assessment, and university service.
Requirements:
Minimum qualification includes a Ph.D. in Communications or related field by July 2022; an established record of teaching and mentoring at the undergraduate level; professional experience in the communication industry; and a commitment to ongoing professional development and service.
