Position Summary:

General Obstetrician-Gynecologist as part of UW Health. We are the largest general ObGyn team in the community, performing greater than 2,500 deliveries annually. We are looking for a physician who has formal fellowship training in family planning to ensure that we provide high quality, evidence based care to our patients and to also provide comprehensive training for our residents.

Principal Duties:

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is seeking a general obstetrician-gynecologist who is fellowship trained in Family Planning. Participation in patient care and service needs will be tailored to fit the needs of the department, division and individual and based on the knowledge, experience and skill of the candidate. Duties of the position include a clinical practice in the diagnosis and treatment of normal obstetrics and gynecology and disorders related to the female reproductive system. Specific responsibilities of this position include inpatient and outpatient case management, gynecological surgery, labor and delivery coverage, participation in clinical and didactic teaching of medical students, interns, and residents, specifically resident and medical student education in relation to family planning. The ideal candidate will also participate in population and clinical research on family planning topics.

Development and participation in research is encouraged and protected time will be considered on an individual basis.

The successful candidate will also participate in professional, public, and university service.

The successful applicant will participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health. An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.

For appointment to the CHS track: Duties will be 70% clinical and 30% academic, including teaching and research.
For appointment to the Clinician Teacher (CT) track: Duties will be 90% clinical and 10% academic with a focus on teaching.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

MD or DO, BC/BE Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Board Certification/Eligibility in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Completion of a 2-year Fellowship in Family Planning.

Candidates for Associate Professor (CHS) or Professor (CHS) must meet criteria for appointment at rank per UW School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for appointment and promotion on the CHS track.

Candidates for Clinical Associate Professor or Clinical Professor must meet criteria for appointment at rank per UW School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for appointment and promotion on the Clinician Teacher track.

License or Certificate:

Eligible for Wisconsin medical license.
