About The Position: The School of Education, Health, and Human Services prepares students for successful entry into their profession.  We focus on an ethical approach to human well-being and encourage critical thinking and practical application. The Human Development & Family Relations Department offers a variety of interesting courses that allow our students’ needs and interests to be developed not only in the classroom but also through flexible real world observations and/or learning opportunities. As a department, we work to ensure our program remains highly relevant and will allow our students a broad range of career opportunities.  This position is a tenured 10-month faculty member but also includes Chairperson duties during the academic year and over the summer. It is a unique opportunity to join and lead a faculty who supports a mission that emphasizes excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service.  Duties are expected to include teaching courses in line with the successful candidate’s expertise, as well as administrative duties which will include, but are not limited to, the maintenance of department records for the institution; oversight of the department’s budget; and effective leadership of the department.  As an institution that delivers challenging and high-quality experiences to a diverse group of learners, the successful candidate must demonstrate an understanding of, and sensitivity to, diversity, inclusion, and equity-minded policies, programs, and practices. The successful candidate may be asked to teach courses in a distance learning format.
