INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT TENURE TRACK FACULTY

Starting Salary $72,772-$73,964.

 

DESCRIPTION: Edmonds College is seeking an Information Technology Application Development (ITAD) Tenure Track Faculty member for our Bachelors of Applied Science ITAD Program. 

This position is enabled by the Our Colleges, Our Future Act of 2021 to guarantee equitable access and educational success for all, particularly for students from communities of color and low-income communities.  The College seeks faculty who demonstrate enthusiasm for learning, can adapt to a variety of teaching situations, can employ student-centered approaches and instructional technology effectively, and who work collaboratively with students, staff, and others in a campus climate that promotes cultural diversity, equity, inclusion, and student learning and success.

As an Information Technology Application Development faculty member, you will be responsible for teaching and providing leadership in various facets of information technology, application design, and program development, including but not limited to, programming logic, software engineering, database modeling and design, application and data integration, cloud computing, mobile application development, machine learning, and embedded systems. In this role, you will be responsible for developing an inclusive and equitable curriculum, preparing teaching materials, developing and assessing learning outcomes to evaluate student work, assigning grades, maintaining required records, performing academic advising, and consulting with students. Other responsibilities include participating in achieving the College’s mission and goals; upholding the College’s values; college governance via department and division work; committee assignments; required professional development and college in-service activities (including employee orientation and college compliance training); and personal and program evaluation. The teaching assignment may include early-morning, late-afternoon, evening, weekend, or online classes. This is a tenure-track position reporting to the Dean of Business and Continuing Education.  The position has an anticipated start date in September 2022; and will have a 9-month service period.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in information technology, application or software development, computer science, data management, web development, or a related field conferred prior to the start of employment.

  • Demonstrated professional work experience in the field of application development, computer programming, software engineering, web development, cloud computing, or related field.

  • Experience teaching, training, or mentoring others in the field of information technology and application development or a related field.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with populations from diverse backgrounds and life experiences.

 

PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is typically performed in a classroom and office and requires standing or sitting for extended periods. Faculty are required to use a computer in the work environment.

 

COMPENSATION:

The salary is based on the current faculty salary schedule; placement is based on education and related experience. The current range is $72,772 to $73,964 annually for a 172-day appointment with progressive increases to $88,270 annually. The College provides an excellent benefits package which includes medical, dental, life insurance, and a retirement plan.
