The Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation
invites candidates to apply for an exciting opportunity as an Help
Desk Assistant in the Division of Research Information Systems.
This position will assist our analysts in answering requests for
assistance in using the RAMS (Research Administration Management
System) software. They will be responsible for triaging incoming
support requests and answering basic questions coming from faculty
and staff. They will also assist in improving written documentation
and training manuals.
Reasonable computer skills
Customer service experience
Strong written communication skills
Good problem-solving, analytical, and team-working skills
An aptitude for learning new technologies.
The candidate should have demonstrated experience working in and
fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or
commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU.
Exposure to research principles (such as through Research Methods
courses or participation in Undergraduate Research programs)
