Montgomery County Community College invites applications for the Director of Business Intelligence and Analytics position. The Director of Business Intelligence and Analytics is responsible for providing the tactical and strategic leadership of the team that serves the reporting and analytics needs of the College.  The director works with leaders across the institution to identify reporting, and analytics needs.  The director actively participates in the creation of reports and analytics and ensures that reports and analytics provided by the team satisfy institutional compliance requirements, operational needs, or decision support and predictive analysis.  As appropriate, the director will employ visual representation of data that fits the application or audience.  When necessary, the Director will work with the Assistant Director of Database and Systems Administration in the development and implementation of new databases or reporting and analytics systems.  The Director ensures adherence to appropriate data access, governance, and security standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Training/Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Prior analytics and business intelligence experience required.
  • Prior experience in the development of project specifications through the capture of user requirements.
  • A demonstrated understanding of the use of analytics in a professional setting.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills:

  • Ability to understand user reporting requirements and develop reporting/visual designs that meet the end-user needs.
  • Ability to explain data to end-users.
  • Success managing multiple projects and demonstrated agility, versatility, and strategic-thinking skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL, Excel, PowerBI or other enterprise reporting platforms.
  • Experience working with predictive analytics, preferred
