Executive Director of Strategic Research Communications - (STA009489)



Responsible for raising the external visibility of the institution's research and innovation portfolio through integrated communications/marketing and operational strategies. Improves internal engagement and reputation for division research operations among the research and commercialization community.
  1. Develops and executes comprehensive communications and marketing strategies to raise visibility of UH research and innovation to external audiences.
  2. Creates integrated communications programs to market division services, events and offerings to the campus community. Responsible for development and management of division's brand reputation across the institution.
  3. Responsible for management, overall planning and budget activities for the Office of Communications. Directs, plans and oversees print publications, electronic communications, digital media and web development, and other communications deliverables developed by the office.
  4. Provides consultation and support for strategic division, business and executive communications.
  5. Directs integrated communications and marketing activities for institutes, university centers, core facilities and other research operations supported by the Division of Research.
  6. Works with senior leadership to position university research and innovation programs and collaborative opportunities to government agencies, organizations and industries.
  7. Provides support for strategic initiatives, including presidential priorities and major grant and donor proposals for funding.
  8. Performs other job duties as required.

Qualifications :

Masters and 7 years experience

Education - Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related Master�s degree from a college or university. Experience - Requires a minimum of seven (7) years of directly job-related experience.
