Job Description: Bilkent University seeks a professional artist/educator with expertise in Voice training to teach a range of undergraduate courses. Candidates with certification in Linklater or Fitzmaurice Voicework are preferred. Primary responsibilities include design and teach a five-semester Voice training curriculum for the undergraduate BA acting program. Other responsibilities include coaching/assisting department productions, mentoring and advising students and participating in departmental and university service responsibilities.

The Department of Theatre, Chaired by American Director Jason Hale, educates and trains undergraduate students to become actors and theater artists, and enjoys a reputation of being a national first-choice for many students in Turkey. The department provides the creative tools to become fully-equipped actors to our students and offer a rigorous curriculum with internationally-acclaimed, award-winning faculty and top-notch production facilities and stages. Students are able to interpret, analyze and perform in a variety of disciplines and styles from classical plays to cutting-edge post-modern theatre, and from the stage to the screen.  The Department currently has international collaboration agreements with The Shanghai Theatre Academy and The Aleksander Zelwerowicz State Theatre Academy in Warsaw, Poland and is a member of ITI/UNESCO Network for Higher Education in the Performing Arts.

Education Requirement: MFA or MA in related field required.

Required Qualifications: University level teaching experience, professional theatre experience, and a well-articulated approach to teaching Voice for actors

Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with additional specialization in related areas such as Shakespeare and classical acting.
