Job Summary

The Traffic Manager I prepares daily traffic and automation logs for WGCU-FM, its HD multicast stations, and associated digital web streams.

Job Description

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

Distribute production schedules or work orders to departments.

Reviews documents, such as production schedules, work orders, or staffing tables, to determine personnel or material requirements and priorities.

Creates the daily traffic and automation logs for WGCU-FM, its HD multicast stations, and associated digital web streams.

Collaborates with sales, production, and finance departments to resolve problems.

Clarifies, diagnoses, reports and provides resolutions to resolve internal and external technical problems.

Provides revenue and inventory reports.

Serves as essential personnel and provides assistance in the event of an emergency on campus.

Other Duties:

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Assists and provides back-up for the Television Traffic Manager.

Additional Job Description

Required Qualifications :

High School diploma or equivalent.

Two years of relevant full-time experience in radio and/or television traffic.

Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.

Experience operation a personal computer and proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher and Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Communication, Broadcasting, or closely related field.

Previous experience utilizing public radio and television content delivery systems.

Knowledge of Adobe Audition or audio editing software.

Knowledge of ProTrack, Wide Orbit, or Marketron software.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :

Working knowledge of television automation systems.

Knowledge of new digital platforms that support public media content.

Knowledge of television traffic and programming operating systems and workflows.

Knowledge of WGCU, FGCU, and FCC standards, rules, and regulations.

Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects within deadlines.

Skilled at inventory management, proactively working logs to maximize revenue, placement, and continuity.

Ability to thrive in an organization that values the diversity of its student body and workforce and actively promotes equity and inclusion.

Ability to accurately prepare and maintain records, files and reports.

Ability to think analytically and logically and motivated to incorporate best practices into work processes.

Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments.

Ability to adapt quickly to changing situations, environments, and technologies. Ability to work positively and efficiently under pressure while meeting close deadlines.

Salary Range : $17.86 per hour to negotiable depending on qualifications and experience.
