Starting Salary: $ 42,986.00 +
Compensation offers are evaluated based on a combination of education, experience, qualifications, and other pertinent factors such as internal equity.

Job Summary
The lighting coordinator is responsible for designing and executing professional-level lighting for productions in support of the Performing Arts department of Lindenwood’s College of Arts and Humanities.
Essential Job Functions and Performance Indicators
The intent of this job description is to provide a representation of the types of duties and level of responsibility that will be required of positions given this title. Job Responsibilities and Execution
- Plans and organizes the design/installation, execution, and removal of all lighting elements for all academic shows and events
- Operates lighting equipment and provides special electrical effects as needed
- Collaborates on planning and overseeing maintenance and repairs of all lighting equipment
- Oversees lighting work of student employees and professional contractors
- Instructs student crew members during production lab hours
- Creates, maintains, and modifies lighting plots and paperwork using Vectorworks, Lightwright, or other industry-standard platforms
- Manages relevant Performing Arts budget lines and orders supplies as needed
- Works with appropriate departments and personnel to schedule, organize, and supervise student employee calls during lighting installation, execution, and removal
- Teaches up to two courses per academic year depending on program needs
- Supports the mission of the University and serves as an ambassador of the Q2 culture of service excellence
- Models, supports, and holds others accountable to the University’s values – integrity, dedication, excellence, creativity, and teamwork
- Mentors student lighting designers and technicians in professional techniques and methods
- Collaborates with appropriate theater and academic staff to create professional-level lighting designs
Required Qualifications – An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered. Additional requirements may be designated by position.
- Master’s degree in Theatre or bachelor’s degree and sufficient professional experience to qualify for undergraduate teaching in stage craft required
- Minimum of 3 years’ relevant professional experience
- Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Theatre with an emphasis in lighting design and/or technology preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures
- Working knowledge of Vectorworks, Lightwright, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of current conventional, light-emitting diode (LED) and intelligent moving lighting instruments, as well as other digital multiplex (DMX)-controlled equipment
- Ability to supervise and instruct student and/or electrician crews during hangs, focuses, and strikes, as well as in the programming of electronic theater controls (ETC) EOS family control consoles
- Ability to interact professionally with actors and audiences
- Knowledge of video projection and Adobe graphics programs
- Excellent creativity, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to use good judgment and think critically
- Ability to work autonomously or collaboratively on multiple projects simultaneously
- General theater setting, including stage/fly systems and catwalks
- Evening and weekend work
- Adequate mobility to hang lights
- Ability to navigate lighting control positions
- Ability to work at heights on ladders, lifts, and catwalks
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time
- Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function
