Faculty, Tenure Track - Creative Writing

Summary:
Utah Valley University's Department of English and Literature invites applicants for a tenure-track position in Creative Writing specializing in Nonfiction.

The successful candidate will teach courses in creative writing and first-year composition in our growing undergraduate creative writing emphasis. Standard teaching load is 4/4, with opportunities for reassigned time for writing program administration, student journal advising, or other service work. Required Qualifications:
Applicants should have an MFA or PhD in creative writing by time of appointment, a significant record of publication in creative nonfiction, and a demonstrated history of excellence in the teaching of writing.

  • Advanced skills in teaching creative writing
  • A commitment to designing and offering courses that represent the breadth and diversity of literary voices publishing today
  • A desire to develop and offer courses that touch on environmental writing, screenwriting, and/or multimodal or interactive writing for the web






Preferred Qualifications:
Desirable areas of secondary interest include environmental writing, screenwriting, or multimodal or interactive writing for the web, including candidates conversant in production software.

Physical Requirements:
Work is normally performed in a typical classroom/office work environment.
