Job Description:

The Department of Pharmacotherapy and Translational Research ( PTR ) invites applications for a full-time, 12-month faculty position at the rank of Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor (non-tenure-track). This is an exciting opportunity to join the PTR faculty at the Gainesville campus of the University of Florida (UF) College of Pharmacy. The ideal candidate will excel in teaching, scholarship, and patient care. Responsibilities will include didactic and clinical teaching in the PharmD program; maintaining a clinical practice site; scholarly pursuits; and active participation in the department and College. The successful candidate will maintain an ambulatory care clinical practice/teaching site at the UF Family Medicine at Main clinic, about two miles from UF’s main campus. Staffed by physicians from the UF College of Medicine Department of Community Health and Family Medicine (CHFM), the clinic is the home for the CHFM physician residency program and conducts approximately 23,500 patient visits/year in a diverse population. The Main Street clinic serves as a location for the clinical education of pharmacy students (APPE students), medical students, Family Medicine physician residents, and a pharmacy postdoctoral fellow. Clinical opportunities include collaborative services in anticoagulation, transitions of care, and high-risk diabetes clinics, as well as inpatient Family Medicine and the Equal-Access Clinic Network .

The PTR Department and the UF College of Pharmacy: The Department of Pharmacotherapy and Translational Research is the largest department in the college and home to the clinical faculty. The department’s faculty are highly interactive and engaged leaders in pharmacy practice, education, and clinical translational research.

The department has a strong ambulatory care group based in the department’s Community-Based Pharmacotherapy Division. Research strengths in the department include precision medicine, pharmacogenomics, infectious diseases, health disparities, and the scholarship of teaching and learning. The UF College of Pharmacy ranks among the top five pharmacy colleges in the nation. Minimum Requirements:

Applicants should have a PharmD degree with relevant post-graduate training (residency and/or fellowship) or equivalent experience. Applicants must be eligible for Florida Pharmacy Licensure. Excellent communication skills are essential. An FDLE Criminal Background Check is required.

Preferred Qualifications: Previous teaching experience, evidence of scholarship, experience in mentoring students and/or postgraduate trainees, and prior experience providing culturally competent care to a diverse patient population are preferred. Board certification in ambulatory care (BCACP) is preferred. For appointment as a Clinical Associate Professor, the applicant must have a record of sustained accomplishments in research and teaching.
