Class Description

The purpose of this class is to provide a professional level of marketing support to the HVAC Technology Program under the guidelines of the Johnson Controls International (JCI) College Partnership Grant.

Minimum Requirements

Associate’s degree in Marketing, Art and Design, Public Relations, Communication Arts, or similar field, Bachelor’s degree preferred. CCBC students within one semester of graduation with an Associate’s degree in any of the above related areas will also be considered. Experience in higher education promoting academic programs preferred. Experience with Adobe suite of products, social media, print media, and promotional products preferred.

Class Specific Essential Duties

  1. Identify and develop marketing strategies to promote JCI-CCBC partnership, high-tech/ high-paying career opportunities in HVAC Technology, scholarships, and student incentives.
  2. Assist with special events, workshops, and professional development activities. including communications, arranging speakers, taking photos, etc.
  3. Maintain student attendance records at events to ensure appropriate awarding of grant funded incentives.
  4. Post content to social media and communicate grant-related activities to current and potential students, JCI partners, and Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS) partners.
  5. Support College Communications staff in development of grant-related marketing and promotional materials.
  6. Be a flexible, team player with have high energy and attention to details.

Position Specific Essential Duties

  1. Must demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills and a strong understanding of web strategy and design principles.
  2. Must possess excellent organization, multi-tasking, and strategic-thinking skills.
  3. Able to work collaboratively with multiple entities including the HVAC Technology Program, JCI representatives, and CCBC College Communications staff.

The Roth 403(b) savings feature allows employees to contribute after-tax dollars and then withdraw tax-free dollars from their account upon retirement. The Roth 403(b) savings feature is only offered by the following vendors: TIAA-CREF and VOYA Financial Advisors, Inc. Adjunct Faculty, Part Time Associates and Full Time employees are eligible to save for retirement using the Roth 403(b) savings feature. Employees may contribute traditional pre-tax 403(b) dollars and Roth 403(b) post-tax dollars simultaneously. The savings limits are combined for the Traditional 403(b) and the Roth 403(b) contributions.
  • Deferred Compensation Plan — 457(b) offered through VOYA Financial Advisors, Inc. The 457(b) salary reduction authorization form is needed. The form is available on SharePoint Forms/Human Resources Forms.
