Position Summary Information

Position Summary
The Assistant Director has lead responsibility for planning and implementing events and programs which cultivate alumni, undergraduate and graduate students, and campus and community involvement in the Alumni Association. The Assistant Director aids in the mission of the Alumni Engagement Office by working in coordination with the director in all aspects of the director’s responsibilities to create a strong and loyal Alumni Association. The Assistant Director maintains close working relationships with campus departments with an emphasis on supporting the mission and work of the University’s Office of University Advancement.

This position requires the Assistant Director to interact and work closely with: alumni, donors, volunteers, students, campus and community leaders, and VIP’s. This position requires significant public engagement with a diverse variety of constituents, evening and weekend work, travel, as well as a friendly and engaging personality for public relations, and a strong aptitude for computer technology. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Three years professional experience working in a higher education environment or related field
Successful performance in an interview/presentation and pass a criminal background check Preferred Qualifications
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Experience managing volunteers
Experience with event planning and program development
Experience working with diverse populations
