N/A Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Appalachian State was awarded a grant from the Student Success Innovation Lab ( SSIL ) at the UNC System Office to fund the implementation and evaluation of the CUNY ACE (Accelerate Complete Engage) program at App State. This program will target entering students who transfer from a NC community college having completed an associate's degree covered by the Comprehensive Articulation Agreement and will provide support and initiatives geared toward student success.
The TrACE Academic Advisor will be responsible for assisting students in the program with academic advising and personal support to ensure student success.

- Master's degree in an appropriate discipline.
- Strong understanding of the needs and challenges facing transfer or non-traditional students.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team, within the department, with faculty, staff, and other administrators.
- Strong organization, project management, communication, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records of student activities.
- Computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office(Access and Excel) and Google Suites; and aptitude to learn new systems as needed.
- Willingness to work select evenings and weekends, as necessary.

- Delivers comprehensive advisement support services to an assigned group of students;
- Collaborates with other units on campus to ensure students are receiving services, as needed;
- Conducts or supports delivery of weekly student seminars on issues of importance to students;
- Reviews student progress and tracks student use of academic support services;
- Conducts regular outreach to faculty and other college staff as needed to support student success;
- Maintains accurate tracking data and notes for each assigned student, recommending appropriate referrals and opportunity programs;
- Supports recruitment of new students into the program;
- Organizes periodic special events and programs for students, faculty and staff;
- Makes recommendations to improve program offerings;
- Participate in the TrACE committee to share information and assist in monitoring progress across participating units;
- Follow specifications of research grant;
- Complete other duties as assigned.
