Position Summary:
The Department of Culture, Society and Justice (formerly Sociology and Anthropology), and the Idaho Society of Fellows, are now accepting applications for a two year postdoctoral fellowship in historical archaeology to begin July 1, 2022. Fellows will pursue their own research and teach one course per semester.

The unit is particularly interested in recruiting candidates that have expertise in western historical archaeology, public engagement, and whose work complements existing strengths in historical archaeology.

Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. in anthropology or equivalent field is required by the start of the position Broadly trained anthropologist/American studies/history scholar with expertise in western historical archaeology.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in archaeology outside of academia (CRM/federal/state agencies)Prior experience teaching and mentoring students from diverse backgroundsExperience in public archaeology/community engaged scholarship, museums and/or curation.
