Job Description

Two postdoctoral research fellow positions are available immediately to participate in a NIH sponsored research project, developing nanoparticle based vaccines, in the department of Biological Systems Engineering at Virginia Tech. This project focuses on assembling various nanoparticles as potential vaccines. Animal test of the vaccine candidate will be carried out. The length of appointment will be 1-5 years based on performance. Competitive salary will be commensurate with the experience.

Required Qualifications

A doctoral degree in biochemistry, virology, chemical engineering, biological systems engineering, or related scientific or engineering field

Self-motivated individual who shows initiative and creativity

Good communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with nanoparticle fabrications and characterizations

Experience with biomolecule (protein, lipids, etc.) processing

Experience with chemical conjugation

Experience with animal tests

Excellent writing skills
