Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Chemistry. This is a full-time, one-year appointment beginning July 1, 2022. Position & Qualifications

The Chemistry Department offers both B.A. and B.S. degrees, including the chemistry major and concentrations in biochemistry and business. Its faculty has expertise in a broad range of sub-disciplines, and the successful candidate for this position will add to this experience by teaching courses mainly related to physical chemistry. The position carries a six-course load, and each laboratory section of a course counts as 0.5 credit. The successful candidate will teach the lecture and laboratory sections of Physical Chemistry I and II, the lecture and two laboratory sections of General Chemistry II, and a general education course.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in hand by July 1, 2022, a record of teaching success at the undergraduate level, and a clear understanding of and strong commitment to teaching excellence and innovation at a liberal arts institution.
