Job Summary
Reporting to IT Systems Architect, the Identity and Access Manager ( IAM ) is responsible for leading teams in building a central Identity and Access Management ( IAM ) framework to enable an integrated experience across the college’s systems and platforms. This position works closely with the Information Security team to review, improve, maintain the overall security program, and manage compliance with the College’s information management and security strategies and policies.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Performance Requirements *
- Ensures the right people gain access to the right materials and records at the right time
- Transitions current group and individual-based security and access controls to Role-Based Access Controls ( RBAC )
- Designs, develops, and validates IAM interfaces to applications
- Manages service delivery performance for the Identity & Access Management lifecycle
- Manages manual access delivery and removal services
- Accountable for quality delivery of critical access controls
- Collaborates with the broader IT team to implement logged elevated access controls for all IT administrative functions
- Aligns Information Security policies, standards, and SOPs with the strategic IAM vision
- Works with the security team to assist in any compliance or forensic investigations
- Responsible for functions related to recruiting and hiring
- Oversees and leads a group of external Identity and Access Management service professionals
- Provides oversight and guidance to internal/external team members for the effective and timely provisioning/de-provisioning of access
- Provides a periodic review of the external service provider to ensure IAM services are following best practices
- Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
- Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through the Tarrant County College ( TCC ) Institute

SUPERVISION – Works under the general supervision of IT Systems Architect
* Performs other related tasks as required.

Required Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of experience with a focused role in identity access management; or any equivalent combination of education, training, certification, and related experience
- Two (2) years of experience supervising (e.g., managing, evaluating the performance of others; leading projects or processes)
- Technical and business experience
- Experience in a Higher Education environment
- Experience setting up RBAC in various ERP platforms as well as Microsoft 365 and Azure
- Experience building IAM or Cloud IAM programs from the ground up, including all aspects of people, process, and technology
- Subject-matter expertise across IAM topics as related to both cloud and on-premises enterprise technology for external customer/client authentication and authorization structures
- Leadership, organizational, and planning skills to manage concurrent tasks, assignments, projects, and deadlines
- Advanced knowledge and application of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment and a setting that is diverse and urban
- Ability to think critically to effectively solve and communicate problems in a fast-paced environment where the demands for work are varied, and unpredictable in scope and volume
- Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with diverse populations
