Job Description
VTTI seeking an experienced, highly motivated leader at a world- renowned research institute. Be part of a team exploring ways to save lives on our highways through advanced vehicle technology and connected roadways. The successful candidate must demonstrate ability to obtain, plan, develop, coordinate and direct data, modeling, simulation, and software development to develop connected and automated vehicle solutions and research programs. The candidate must have demonstrated ability to obtain, plan, develop, coordinate, and direct both large- and small-scale complex transportation research projects and programs. The primary research areas apply a mixture of analyzing crash data, human behavior, advanced vehicle technology and simulation/modeling to answer research questions. Candidate is expected to develop their own research portfolio as well as support existing research and major program initiatives at VTTI.
Provide guidance to peers and mentees related largely to technology implementation objectives, data analytics, simulation, modeling, and connected and automated vehicles. Supervises, coordinates, and reviews the work of cross functional staff working on projects in which the candidate leads.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in Automotive Engineering, Human Factors, or similar.
-Demonstrated record in procuring and executing research grants.
-Demonstrated excellence on research and development execution and leadership.
-Experience serving as the principal investigator.
-Demonstrated significant project management experience in conducting large, complex research projects.
- Demonstrated experience applying simulation and modeling to solve real world problems.
- Strong communications skills.
-Able to clearly and concisely develop effective proposals, document research findings in technical reports, present results to clients, present at conferences, and publish in scientific journals.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior collaboration with automotive industry.
