Allegheny College, a small selective liberal arts college located in northwest Pennsylvania, invites applications for the position of Director of Physical Plant. This is a full-time exempt administrative position reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer. The Physical Plant Department is responsible for the operations and maintenance, renovations, and construction of all buildings, grounds, and utilities of the College.

The Director of Physical Plant is responsible for providing efficient facility service support to the College. Facilities services consist of three major functional areas that the Director is responsible for: Engineering (trades), grounds and roadways, and environmental safety and compliance. Specifically, the Director is responsible for the coordination, supervision, and direction of the basic support services of the facilities and campus community including: project and construction management, operational management including reporting and budgets, environmental health & safety, sustainability initiatives, engineering documentation, logistics, improvements and maintenance and repair (building, road, and ground), custodial services, utilities, campus wide set-ups, and computerized maintenance management system (School Dude).

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree is required. Master’s degree in engineering, architecture or a related field is preferred. Five to seven years of progressively more responsible experience is required, some of which must have included construction and maintenance of a large plant and supervision responsibilities for a large group of maintenance employees. Knowledge of skilled trades and computer maintenance management systems is preferred. College or public school experience is desirable.
