Librarian Faculty Position, Morgantown Campus.

The WVU Libraries seeks a Business and Economics Research Librarian to build and maintain liaison relationships with the departments of the John Chambers College of Business and Economics. This librarian would also be a member of the Downtown Library’s Research Services team, providing general research support and teaching information literacy courses and instruction sessions.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Actively engage with faculty, students, and centers in the College of Business and Economics and other entrepreneurial and business-related initiatives across the University
  • Design and implement a program of strategic instruction in assigned subject areas
  • Provide specialized research assistance in assigned subject areas
  • Provide general research and reference assistance to library users
  • Develop, assess, and advocate for resources to support research and instruction in assigned subject areas
  • Broaden representation and belonging through materials and outreach strategies .
  • Engage in service and professional development/research
Qualifications :

Required qualifications:
  • ALA accredited Master’s degree in library and information science or international equivalent graduate degree by date of appointment
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of the role of liaison librarians
  • Demonstrated understanding of information literacy practices
Desired qualifications:
  • Familiarity with entrepreneurship and innovation programs
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies and resources related to business, economics, social sciences, or entrepreneurship
  • Experience with instruction in a higher education setting and understanding of teaching pedagogies
  • Familiarity with open access and other aspects of scholarly communication

  • We welcome beginning or early career librarians and will fill the position at the rank of Staff Librarian or Assistant University Librarian. Rank and salary are dependent upon post-MLS experience and credentials.
  • Salary range $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 commensurate with experience and faculty rank.
  • Exemplary job performance, professional development/research, and service are required for reappointment and promotion in rank.
