Official Title: Career Development Coordinator Business Title: Career Development Coordinator Employment Class: Non-Instructional Academic Staff FTE: 1.0 Compensation: $39,400 - $41,000 FLSA Status: Exempt Terms of Employment: 12-month, fixed-term terminal Position Summary:

Coordinates and delivers career development programming, resource materials, and/or advising to students and alumni. Educates students, alumni, and other stakeholders about career development and opportunities and maintains relationships to aid in effective career planning.   • Educates or advises students and recent alumni individually or in groups through various mediums about career exploration, self- assessment, skills, materials development, and career decisions. Create workshop materials relevant to sessions geared toward advancing students’ skills

  • Represent Career & Professional Development and act as contact for faculty to prepare students for employment/internship opportunities

  • Conduct presentations at meetings of student clubs/organizations and classes

  • Present, implement, and grade assignments for classes in conjunction with faculty

  • Meet individually with students to assist with career development and job/internship search preparation

  • Serve as a liaison and maintain relationships within assigned advising areas, industries, departments, and its faculty to market opportunities for students and promote the Professional Skills Program

  • Engage in professional development and education to understand industry, trends, and resources and tools to increase competency in providing career readiness advising

  • Outreach to organizations, employers or alumni to build stronger engagement and develop students professionally. Utilize technology in delivery of office services

  • Develops and delivers career development programming and resource materials across various mediums to provide education to students

  • Communicate and assist in marketing individualized programs to specific students for each major/college

  • Coordinate and plan events/other professional skills workshops for the office

  • Coordinate and recruit professionals to assist with events and programming

  • Work with campus departments, facilities, and dining to reserve and coordinate event requirements

  • Maintain an up-to-date database of all events and programs (Handshake, Presence, campus calendars)

  • Collect, maintain, and develop assessments including semester reports on learning outcomes of programs and services

  • Meet with students to assist with event questions and respond to all student event inquiries

  • Responds to questions and provides information regarding student services, policies, procedures, and employment preparation

  • May identify and maintain a professional network of employers or other stakeholders to facilitate career exploration and employment opportunities for students

  • Participates in the campus-wide career services community, providing input to leadership regarding the development of advising, recruitment, and co/curricular programs offered by the school/college/unit

Qualifications Required:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in related field required

Minimum of two years' experience in higher education, college recruiting or closely related experience

Working knowledge of student career development process and current career trends

Previous experience in student programming

Excellent presentation skills along with strong oral and written communication skills

Demonstrated ability to multi-task and make decisions in a fast-paced and changing work environment

Experience with MS Office, online databases, and operating AV equipment

Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion


Education: Master's Degree in related field preferred

Direct experience working in an area of career development

Knowledge of learning outcomes and processes of an experiential learning program for students

Experience with employer engagement and outreach

Recruitment, training, and supervision of student employees/interns

Able to balance many tasks simultaneously and work well independently

Ability to sell services and events to a variety of constituents
