Job Summary/Basic Function
An Adjunct instructor is a term-to term appointment with responsibility to students, course material, and instruction. This position is in-person at the CSU main campus.
Teaching duties will primarily include freshmen-level composition courses.
Roles Summary:
To undertake teaching activities in the curriculum area, ensuring a high quality of provision, in response to learners’ needs.
To work collaboratively and innovatively with colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
• To undertake teaching and learning related activities, as agreed.
• To ensure that appropriate learning materials are prepared and assessments and assignments are undertaken in a timely manner.
• To provide reports and statistics regarding student and teaching matters.
Minimum Qualifications
• A Master’s Degree with a minimum of 18 hours of graduate studies in English. The degree must be from a regionally accredited institution.
• Strong written and oral communications skills are required.
Preferred Qualifications
• A Doctorate Degree in the discipline from a regionally accredited institution is preferable.
• Prior teaching experience and command of instructional technology is highly desirable.
• Expertise in cutting-edge pedagogy, assessment, and/or community-based teaching (community relations, student-faculty collaborations) is highly desirable.

Central State University ( CSU ) urgently needs adjuncts in Criminal Justice, Business Management, and Early Childhood Education for summer 2020 online degree programs. Qualified candidates must have at minimum a Master’s degree or 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline and documented online teaching experience. Beginning fall 2020, we plan to offer our Intervention Specialist ( INS ) degree program online through the College of Education and will soon add an undergraduate degree in Interdisciplinary Studies-Humanities. We welcome adjuncts interested in becoming full-time, non-tenure track faculty in future. We offer competitive adjunct pay and full-time salaries as well as an excellent benefits package to full-time employees.
