A successful candidate will play an active role in FMU's existing academic success. The Assessment Coordinator will act as a liaison between the school, community, and the industry to increase enrollment and provide opportunities for internships and placement of graduates. This customer-centric role is responsible to deliver service excellence support to meet the needs of our University community. Demonstrates the professionalism needed to handle sensitive and confidential matters.

Essential Functions:

Under minimal supervision and within the scope of FMU policies and procedures, the Assessment Coordinator:
  • Manages the day-to-day operations for the University assessment.
  • Works with University constituents to design, develop, implement, and maintain a systematic and sustainable assessment process and systems for assessing administrative goals at all levels across the University.
  • Works with faculty and administrative personnel for the development of student and program learning outcomes, including general education outcomes, and coordinates the development and implementation of appropriate assessment measures.
  • In conjunction with the Center for Teaching and Learning, conducts training sessions for deans, department heads, and faculty, and provides leadership for the development of academic assessment and benchmark measures.
  • Conducts analyzes and reports student course evaluations each semester.
  • Develops and maintains up-to-date instruments, software, and integrity measures necessary to collect, manage, and report university assessment data.
  • Performs periodic review of written procedures and updates as necessary to maintain a current, complete reference manual for Institutional Assessment, including the maintenance of an institutional assessment calendar to ensure that cyclical project timelines are met.
  • Ensures the use of best practices for assessment.
  • The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that logically relate to the position.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of assessment in higher education to include both academic and support units.
  • Knowledge of statistics and psychometrics.
  • Effective analytical and decision-making skills; ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data.
  • Ability to coordinate, develop, implement and conduct projects, surveys, and studies in support of institutional assessment.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with diverse constituents.
  • Ability to maintain the privacy and confidentiality of information, protect the assets of the institution, act ethically and with integrity, and adhere to FMU’s Code of Conduct and policies and procedures.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written), organizational, and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail, dependability, and adaptability to a changing environment is extremely important including the ability to manage, prioritize, and accomplish multiple tasks/projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Moderate physical activity. Requires handling objects of average weight up to fifty (50) pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
Qualifications:
  • The position requires a Master’s degree. A Bachelor’s degree and five (5) plus years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Higher education experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite Jenzabar, LinkedIn Learning, LMS (preferably Blackboard), and Xitracs™ as well as knowledge and understanding of the organizational structure, workflow, and operating procedures.
  • Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours.
  • Pre-Employment screening is required: criminal background check and drug testing.
