Job Summary:

Create, oversee, and participate in a variety of learning environments and activities that provide opportunities for students to develop to their fullest potential and achieve their learning objectives. Participate collaboratively and professionally with other faculty and staff to promote the general well- being of the department and the college, and collective and individual interest of its staff and student body. Support and seek always to fulfill the guiding concepts for the college embodied in the Strategic Goals.

Required Qualifications:

Minimum requirement is a current holder of an SNT ( ASNT ) Level-II certification in at least one recognized ASNT discipline including five or more years of work experience as a level–II or level- III NDT technician in Visual Testing (VT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Phased Array UT ( PAUT ), Penetrant Testing (PT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), or Radiographic Testing (RT).

Knowledge of business and industry needs as it relates to NDT . Must be organized, able to prioritize work, and follow through to completion of complex tasks. Good interpersonal communication skills are essential. Requires networking skills and the ability to build effective business partnerships. Requires excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to encourage flexibility from others and provide guidance in accomplishing goals and tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

Teaching or training experience in VT, PT, MT, UT, Phased Array UT ( PAUT ), RT, metallurgy, and other NDT disciplines at the Industrial or community college level is preferred. Experience with Computed Radiography (CR) and/or Digital Radiography (DR) would be a preferred qualification.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Requires the ability to work with staff and students.

Work is performed in an office or classroom setting with minimal exposure to safety or health hazards.

Essential Duties:

Instruct nondestructive testing series including VT, UT, UT Phased Array, (RT), penetrant (PT) and magnetic particle (MT) at Levels I and II in accordance with SNT -TC-1A 1992 edition or later.

Establish and maintain relationships with local industry and schools.

Understand College’s strategic goals of Productivity, Equity, and Quality and ensure measures of program effectiveness are aligned with meeting these goals.

Research, consult, and recommend materials/equipment with local industry to be purchased.

Advise students on their progression and other related needs.

Evaluate students in classroom and laboratory. Compile reports reflecting the evaluation.
