Mechanical Technology Instructor

Finger Lakes Community College is affiliated with The State University of New York (SUNY) and is currently recruiting for an Instructor of Mechanical Technology. This is a 10 month, tenure-track position.

General Functions:

Educational Background : A master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field required. Prior teaching experience is required. A background in manufacturing industry, and/or CNC and CAD/CAM knowledge preferred.

Essential Functions:

Provide classroom instruction to students , including hands-on laboratory and machining instruction

1. Provide classroom instruction to students , including hands-on laboratory and machining instruction
2. Provide academic advisement through student meetings, evaluations and assessment of advisees academic programs
3. Participate in student recruitment events.
4. Serve as a liason to local industry partners to create co-op and career opportunities for students.
5. Maintain transfer articulation agreements with baccalaureate institutions.
6. Serve on college committees
7. Participate in curriculum development activities
8. Maintain office hours and be available to students as needed and as stated in the bargaining agreement
9. Participate in professional growth and development activities
10. Attend commencement and professional workshop days as defined by the college calendar
11. Perform appropriate other duties as requested by the Academic Dean of the College/ Department Chair
