Job Description:

The Instructional Technologist collaborates with faculty in the development, design, delivery, and evaluation of technology-enhanced, hybrid, and online, and courses and course companion sites. Integrates course design elements that promote Quality Matters standards for online course design, ADA compliance, mission-related teaching practices, and alignment with course learning outcomes. Trains and supports faculty and instructors in the use of teaching and learning technologies with special attention to best practices for improving learning outcomes and active learning in face-to-face, Live Online, and asynchronous online courses. Provides relevant training in pedagogical strategies, teaching and learning assessments, Learning Management System tools, and various instructional technologies. Assists in the administration of the College’s Learning Management System. Addresses faculty and student issues related to all areas of instructional technology. May be asked to provide learning management support online during evenings, weekends, and holidays.

The selected candidate will develop and maintain a repository of reference and training resources for faculty and staff; assist in the maintenance of web sites relevant to distance learning; assist in the maintenance and supervision of the Faculty Training Lab; evaluate new learning technologies to determine their relevance for Pensacola State College; and be knowledgeable in use of Canvas, plagiarism detection software, exam proctoring software, and student evaluation software.

Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in instructional technology, instructional design, or related field required. Successful results of a criminal background check are required.

Pursuant to College policy, it is an employment eligibility requirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of § 435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations. Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will be deemed not qualified to hold employment in this position. A Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate as a condition of employment, and any person who fails to disclose any adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application will be disqualified from employment.

SALARY RANGE: $37,440.00 – $40,000.00 Depending upon qualifications, the salary is negotiable.
