Job Description

Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech seeks a highly qualified candidate for Assistant, Associate or Full Collegiate Professor of Finance beginning in Fall 2022 which will be housed at the Northern Virginia Center in the Washington D.C. metro area.

Successful candidates will have a primary commitment to our instructional and research missions. Duties will include graduate and undergraduate level teaching and curricular and program development. The teaching load will be 9-12 credit hours per semester. Other duties may include participating in departmental committees, activities including advising and mentoring students and participating in department and professional service as assigned by the department head. This position is renewed annually, based on performance. The position does not offer tenure but does offer a clear promotion path with the potential of increasingly long-term contracts.

Duties will include teaching various courses in finance, including foundations of finance, investments, corporate finance, international finance and managerial economics.

Required Qualifications

Ph.D. in Finance; effective communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

The preferred candidate will have evidence of prior teaching experience in finance, relevant research, industry experience, and should be committed to the pursuit of teaching excellence. Experience interacting with a diverse student population and Certified Financial Advisor (CFA) designation is desired.
