BGSU (Ohio) English Department is hiring an Assistant Professor, Creative Writing (Fiction), f/t tenure-track, to begin Fall 2022.
The English Department of Bowling Green State University invites applications for an Assistant Professor of English specializing in Creative Writing (Fiction). The department offers both an MFA and a BFA in Creative Writing and is also home to the literary journal Mid-American Review.
Qualifications: Candidates must have an MFA or PhD in Creative Writing or related area (e.g., Creative Writing and Publishing, Writing Practices, Writing, or requirements for the degree completed by August 2022; demonstrated creative productivity through publication of an original book-length creative work by a reputable publisher (e.g., a commercial publisher such as Penguin/Random House, Hachette, Harper Collins, Simon and Schuster, Macmillan; a nonprofit press listed in the directory of the Community of Literary Magazines and Presses or in Newpages.com; an academic press associated with an accredited university) or other publications in peer-reviewed venues (e.g., literary journals listed in Best American Short Stories or Newpages.com); and teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level as the instructor of record. Interest and experience with diverse literary traditions, demonstrated experience in emerging fields, and experience teaching diverse populations are preferred.
