Information Systems and Operations Management Adjunct - College of Business
Note: Adjunct positions at UCO are part-time teaching positions. This posting is to create a pool of interested applicants from which the Department may draw as sections become open at any point in the current academic year. This posting may or may not result in the hiring of adjuncts. Adjunct Faculty provides a quality learning experience for students on a semester basis. Adjunct faculty reports to a dean or chair and performs instruction-related duties and responsibilities in a timely manner and in accordance with the mission, policies and procedures of the college. The relationship of the adjunct faculty member to the student is one of teacher and facilitator of learning.
The College of Business has 76 full-time faculty and 40 part-time faculty in 6 academic departments: Accounting, Economics, Finance, Information Systems & Operations Management, Management, and Marketing. The College currently offers 13 undergraduate majors serving more than 2,500 students, and 2 graduate programs serving more than 100 students combined. Department Specific Essential Job Functions:
The Department of Information Systems and Operations Management at the University of Central Oklahoma invites applications for the position of Adjunct Instructor of undergraduate or graduate business analytics courses.
Applicants must have a Master's degree in business or a related field, and have a strong understanding of statistical concepts.
Responsibilities include planning coverage of topics over a semester or block course, providing timely feedback through assignment/exam grading, and meeting deadlines for midterm grade alerts and final semester grades.
Good communication skills are required for explaining and demonstrating complex concepts.
Possesses at least a master's degree in the field specified in the position announcement (exceptions require Academic Affairs approval). Possesses excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Applicants should have experience using statistical concepts and data analysis to make business decisions.
Preferred candidates will have experience with Tableau, SAS, SQL, or other data analysis tools/skills.
Applicants must have a strong understanding of statistical concepts, have advanced Excel skills, and experience with PowerBI.
