Job Description:

The Department of Environmental Studies at MCLA invites applications for Adjunct Instructors for the 2018-2019 academic year. For fall of 2019, we are looking for adjunct instructor to teach the following course:

ENVI 325 Geographic Information Systems 4cr

Geographic Information Systems/Science is rapidly becoming the optimum approach for dis-playing and analyzing both spatial and temporal data in virtually every field. Through a series of "on the job" projects, students will learn the concepts, terminology and computer skills necessary to apply these skills to a variety of subject and occupational areas. Students will complete a final project, report and presentation using GIS in their area of interest. Required laboratory. Course attributes: ENVI

  • Deliver instruction appropriate to the topic, course description, intended learning outcomes, level, and student audience.
  • Promote and facilitate student success by creating an environment conducive to learning and student involvement.
  • Manage the learning environment through effective record-keeping, submitting grades and other reports on time, and enforcing school/campus academic, code of conduct, and attendance policies.


Required Qualifications for Introduction to Soil Science:

  • Master's degree in environmental studies or a related field
  • Evidence of expertise or scholarly activity appropriate to the discipline
  • Previous teaching experience preferred
