The Department of English at Old Dominion University invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Rhetoric. The candidate is required to have scholarly expertise in historical rhetoric(s) with evidence of teaching experience and an active research agenda. Preference will be given to candidates with secondary expertise in gender studies, archival research, community rhetorics, and/or digital rhetoric. The successful applicant will teach on-campus and distance courses and supervise students at the undergraduate, MA, and PhD levels, with specific contributions expected to the scholarly development of the students in our growing PhD program (https://sites.wp.odu.edu/englishphd).

 

Requirements for the position include: PhD in Rhetoric or a closely related field conferred by Aug. 15, 2018; evidence of successful college/university teaching; and evidence of active research agenda.
