Job Description
Nature of Work
Acts as the “owner’s representative” on campus construction projects, including interpreting, administering, and enforcing contracts during the construction phase.
- Performs assignments and responsibilities of varying degrees of complexity and diversity
- Works within broad guidelines and policies, providing input to policy development and improvement as requested
- Evaluates information/data from field sites to review project status
- Performs quality assurance for construction projects and reviews safety practices
- Solves complex problems and analyses
- Analyzes project feasibility and design studies relative to needs and budget, space needs, layout and arrangement, selecting materials and the more specific design of construction systems and details.

- Impacts a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team and other related teams
- Explains difficult or sensitive information with a goal to build consensus
- Maintain relationships with contractors
- Collaborates with others inside the functional area, and at times outside the functional area
Exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information, determining gaps, providing recommendations, etc.
Supervision Exercised
- Acts as a resource and/or mentor for colleagues with less experience
- May lead small projects with manageable risks and resource requirements
- Acts as a resource and/or mentor for colleagues with less experience
- A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
- Licensure may be required
5 Years experience in managing construction related projects
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Possesses an in-depth and broad conceptual and practical knowledge in the Engineering Construction & Design function and begins to acquire knowledge in other related functions
- Has knowledge of best practices and concepts in the Engineering Construction & Design function and how own department/function integrates with related functions
