Position Details
Duties Performed in the Usual Course of the Job
Lecturer-Pool faculty are term positions hired to teach one to four courses per semester. Course requirements may include teaching on-campus studio and lecture classes at the main campus in Huntsville and online courses, depending on the needs of the academic department. Lecturer-Pool faculty hiring is based upon student demand, on a semester-by-semester basis. The selected applicant may teach Junior and Senior design studios, space planning, design theory, and materials.
The Department of Family and Consumer Sciences at SHSU seeks to recruit and retain a diverse faculty. - The ideal candidate would possess a minimum of a Master’s degree in interior design or a related field.
- A minimum of three years of professional design experience is required.
- Experience teaching undergraduate students at the college level is preferred.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and the Adobe creative suite is required.
- NCIDQ certification is preferred.
