Williams College is pleased to announce the position of Digital Projects and Imaging Specialist in the Art Department Visual Resources Center (VRC). As part of the VRC team, you will support innovative and creative approaches to image-intensive teaching and learning. The VRC offers digital humanities teaching projects, digital and historic collections of art and visual culture images, training and workshop opportunities, and technology-rich collaborative spaces for faculty and students. Responsibilities

As the Digital Projects and Imaging Specialist, you will design and implement digital humanities teaching projects in collaboration with art faculty, providing expertise, training, and support for developing effective teaching and learning practices using technology. You will manage digital imaging services, creating images, videos, 3D models, and other formats in support of instruction, research, and publication. You will also provide technical support for image-intensive teaching and manage shared equipment in the VRC.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Art History or related field with at least 1 year of relevant experience required, Master’s degree preferred
  • Familiarity with digital humanities tools and current trends, including digital exhibitions, interactive timelines, mapping, and 3D technologies
  • Experience scanning images and performing basic editing functions in Adobe Photoshop
  • Working knowledge of presentation and remote teaching tools, such as PowerPoint and Zoom
  • Ability to effectively instruct and provide technical support to faculty, staff, and students in a broadly diverse community with a wide-range of technical expertise
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong attention to detail
