The School of Art at the University of Houston invites applications for a full-time, Visiting Assistant Professor of Painting position to begin Fall 2022. We seek outstanding candidates with a dedicated commitment to painting and an active engagement with contemporary issues and discourse. The Visiting Assistant Professor will teach a 3/3 load with courses at varying levels including graduate and undergraduate.

The successful candidate will have an active exhibition record with attendant critical attention, and a developing record as a teacher and professional in the field of contemporary art. Additionally, the ideal candidate will be a clear communicator, and have experience with, interest in, or contributions to diversity or inclusion efforts that impact students, faculty, staff, or the applicants field of study. Qualifications :

Candidates must have an MFA and at least two years of college-level teaching experience beyond graduate school.
