Reporting to Prof. Jason Buenrostro, the part-time Lab and Administrative Coordinator will be responsible for administrative operations and financial, physical/laboratory, and personnel resources for the PI and his research group . Position Description
More specifically, the Coordinator will:
- Act as the lab’s point of contact for University and HSCRB partners, including EHS, Lab Operations, Business Operations, Research Compliance, HR, Faculty & Academic Affairs, as well as vendors.
- Work with the PI and researchers on developing and updating Institutional Review Board’s and American Association for Laboratory Animal Science’s research protocols; coordinate their reviews and approvals.
- Design and implement standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and administrative systems for the research group;
- Be responsible for local lab onboarding and exit procedures for incoming and departing lab members;
- Advise research personnel on Department and University policies, as well as the Lab’s operational and administrative procedures;
- Provide day-to-day management of lab resources to optimize supply inventory and ensure adequate resources for multiple projects; coordinate purchases of specialized lab equipment;
- Coordinate sponsored funding activities of the Lab, including development/submission of proposals;
- Work with the PI on monitoring the timelines and deliverables of ongoing research projects;
- Work with the PI and researchers on collecting and organizing content for progress research reports;
- Assist with editing submitted research content for grant proposals, reports and publications;
- Help with developing presentations or other material, as needed;
- In collaboration with Sponsored Research Administrator, be responsible for grants administration including resource allocation, preparation of applications, budgets, and monitoring and forecasting of all sponsored funds;
- Be responsible for oversight of all non-sponsored funds, meeting submission and reporting deadlines and approving financial data for annual and final reports;
- Process financial transactions and orders for the PI and lab members;
- Organize scientific meetings for the Lab and its research collaborators from the Broad;
- Correspond on behalf of the PI with partner organizations;
- Manage the PI’s calendar and his local and international travels;
- Coordinate visits of collaborators and funders.
