Adjunct Instructor in Adult Learning/Human and Organizational Development

Primary Purpose and General Responsibilities

The VCU School of Education's Department of Teaching and Learning is committed to fostering a positive, diverse and inclusive environment for faculty, staff and students. We are excited to invite qualified candidates from diverse backgrounds and with diverse perspectives for the position of Adjunct Instructor for our MEd in Adult Learning, with concentrations in Human Resource Development and Instructional Design and Technology, and our BA in Human and Organizational Development.

Typical Duties

The Adjunct Instructors will be responsible for developing their course in CANVAS, teaching the course, and working with students to ensure their success. They will also develop assessments for student learning outcomes, as well as experiential learning experiences in the course.



Required Qualifications

-Masters degree in Adult Learning, Human and Organizational Learning, Adult Education, Organizational Development or related field.
-Demonstrated experience working with adult learners in education, corporations, non-profits, or other organizations.
-Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning theories.
-Proficiency with Zoom or other virtual platforms.
-Self starter with the ability to work with little supervision.

-Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse learning environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.

Preferred Qualifications

-PhD or EdD in Adult Learning, Human and Organizational Learning, Adult Education, Organizational Development, or related field.
-3-5 years experience working with adults in a learning environment.
-Experience using CANVAS, as well as Zoom or other virtual platforms.

Salary Range: $1,260/credit
