Job Description:
This position is accountable to the dean through the direct supervision of the assistant dean of student services. This position performs a variety of complex advising responsibilities to prospective and current students. Responsible for advisement to prospective and current graduate nursing students, developing plans of study, reviewing student records for graduation clearance, recruitment, and maintaining all graduate student records. Responsible for making appropriate referrals based on timely and accurate assessment. This position assists with other student services activities as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Experience/Licensing:
• Bachelor of Arts/Science degree in nursing, academic advising, business or closely related field from a regionally accredited college or university, Master's preferred.
• Two years recent work experience in academic student advising required, in nursing preferred.
• Two years recent work experience in recruiting, communications, public relations, student services, and/or nursing required.
• Healthcare background preferred.
Communication and Other skills:
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task are required
• Strong interpersonal skills are required
• Exceptional computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office are required.
• Excellent problem solving are required.
• Must have the ability to, as well as meet the requirements to complete and maintain mandatory training per the University mandatory training policy pursuant to the deadlines set forth therein.
• Experience in electronic communication required.
• Ability to understand, navigate, and run reports in BANNER, Web Report Library and WebExtender required; previous experience with these is strongly preferred.
• Must have excellent oral presentation skills and be able to regularly speak in front of small and large groups required.
