The Advanced Academic Programs (AAP) division seeks non-tenure track adjunct faculty to develop and teach 485.712 Project Management: Leading Projects to Successful Outcomes for online delivery within the MA in Organizational Leadership program. Online course development is scheduled from September 2020 to December 2020 for the Spring 2021 semester delivery. The course will run from January 2021 to May 2021. Candidates with online course development and teaching experience and those with experience teaching and engaging students from diverse backgrounds are of particular interest.


485.712 Project Management: Leading Projects to Successful Outcomes

Project management, as a strategic organizational competence, focuses on the goals, resources and timeline of workplace endeavors designed to achieve a unique product or service. Leading projects to a successful outcome will require attaining all project goals within given constraints. This course provides students the opportunity to learn the stages critical to successful project management and build skills to lead project teams through establishing scope, calculating cost, and assessing risk. Students in this course distinguish between project management and true leadership of projects, and proactively observe, assess and remedy extenuating circumstances to reach successful outcomes. The course will examine current project management processes associated with project. Students will develop mastery of the fundamental project management concepts through the use of case studies and software tool to lead successful projects through the entire project life cycle. Students will also acquire the leadership skills to monitor project statuses, document lessons learned, and successfully close a project.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • An advanced degree in Organizational Leadership or in a relevant field, such as management, organizational psychology, business, political science, or sociology, with a master’s degree at minimum
  • Five years professional work experience within the relevant fields
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A terminal degree in Organizational Leadership or in a relevant field, such as management, organizational psychology, business, political science, or sociology
  • 1-3 years of graduate level teaching experience
  • Online course development and teaching experience
  • The background to teach a wide variety of courses in Organizational Leadership.

During the Influenza ("the flu") season, as a condition of employment, The Johns Hopkins Institutions require all employees who provide ongoing services to patients or work in patient care or clinical care areas to have an annual influenza vaccination or possess an approved medical or religious exception. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
