Position Summary and Candidate Profiles

Portland Community College’s Entry Level Healthcare Programs program provide students and working professional opportunities to learn new skills, refresh their cardiac knowledge, or fulfill continuing education units (CEUs) needs. We are currently seeking part-time faculty members who have current content knowledge, who can balance academics with practical application, and are committed to equitable student success.

To be considered for a part-time faculty position, your application must demonstrate the Instructor Qualifications outlined below.

Phlebotomy Instructor

The Phlebotomy Program prepares students to be an ASCP-certified phlebotomist. This two term program. The program is delivered through in-person skills sessions, and a 100 hours clinical experience at a local hospital or clinic.

Minimum Instructor qualifications

• American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Board Certified.

• Four years full-time Phlebotomy work experience

• Demonstrated experience with draws in various patient populations including pediatric, elderly, difficult draws, and alternative draw locations

• Formal or informal experience teaching adult learners (students, employees, or peers)

Notes Regarding Academic Credentials

• Official transcripts are required to be submitted within 2 weeks of offer date for degrees required in the stated Instructor Qualifications.
• Instructors shall have earned required academic credentials at a regionally accredited US institution or a foreign institution having the equivalent of regional accreditation. Instructors with credentials from other countries will have their transcripts evaluated by agencies that have good standing with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services to establish fulfillment of this standard.
