Position Summary:

Duties may include food service and sanitation, greeting and serving customers, stocking counters and steam tables (providing proper serving sizes and keeping station well stocked with menu items and dry goods), preparing and replenishing beverages (making coffee and tea, refilling product for fountain drinks, filing coolers with bottled beverages), washing and storing properly all dishes, trays, eating utensils, cups, pots and pans. (Gathering dirty dishes from dining platforms and trayveyor . Dishwashing in three compartment sink or commercial dish machine. Refilling the dish machine with appropriate chemicals as needed. Reshelving dishes to appropriate areas.)

This individual also maintains work station, other food service areas and equipment to meet cleanliness and food safety standards. (Keeps dining area and tables clean and sanitized. Refills condiments, napkins and plastic wear dispensers. Refills coolers with grab and go items as needed.)

May assist with processing GET orders (Reads tickets to add condiments, beverages, desserts to order, plastic wear, takes order to appropriate pick up area.)

Minimum Qualifications:

*Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
*Must be able to exert well- paced mobility for periods of up to four (4) hours.
*Must have the ability to lift equipment and supplies up to 40 pounds in weight.
*Must be able to walk, bend, stoop, and use finger dexterity for periods up to four (4) hours at a time.
*Must be able to stand for up to four (4) hours at a time.
*Must be able to listen attentively and comprehend verbal instructions in English.
*Must be able to visually differentiate colors for the purpose of food safety.
*Must be able to work when exposed to wet floors, temperature extremes and loud noise.
*Must be able to work independently with the appropriate amount of supervision.

A federal court on December 7, 2021, issued a ruling that suspends the COVID-19 vaccine requirement that applies to federal contractors nationwide. With this development, the University will pause any enforcement action against employees who have not complied with the requirement to be fully vaccinated by Dec. 8, 2021 or to have requested an exemption to maintain their employment status.

The University will continue to monitor the state of the pandemic on campus and in the community as well as developments in federal and state requirements, and also will continue to regularly consult with public health officials and our medical panel. As has been the case throughout the pandemic, our protocols and requirements are subject to change depending on conditions on campus or in our community, and government requirements.
