Gannon University's College of Engineering and Business (CEB) is seeking to fill an exciting position for a Visiting Assistant Professor who will serve a two-year term with summer administrative responsibilities associated with grant outcomes. The appointment for this position will begin in August 2022 and can be renewed based on performance. The preferred candidate's expertise should be in the areas of Additive Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, Supply Chain Engineering/Management, and/or related fields. The candidate should be able to demonstrate knowledge and expertise in the supply chain ramifications of model-based manufacturing, Industry 4.0, and Industrial Internet-of-Things (IoT). The successful candidate will provide a dynamic and innovative classroom and lab experience for students, in addition to designing new courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels.  This position will support the newly created Center for Manufacturing and Technology (CMT).  This center has been funded by an ARC Power Award.

This position will teach a minimum of 6 credits/semester (12 credits total for the academic year) and support the operations of the Center with time equivalent to 6 credits per semester. In relation to the center, this position will:
1. Support the Center's operation;
2. Establish relationships with the Center's clients and external partnerships;
3. Work on strategic planning for the sustainability of the center, beyond the 2-year award time frame, and determination of the Center's growth path;
4. Create resources for communicating information about the Center to the general public: news pieces, media resources, newsletters, periodic reporting documents to the Dean and the Center's stakeholders;
5. Identify scholarly synergies between Gannon faculty, and identify faculty talent that will meaningfully contribute to the Center's activities;
6. Organize Center-related showcase/Open House events:
7. Assist in grant applications supporting the Center's growth.
 
Requirements include a master, (Ph.D. or an engineering doctorate is preferred) or comparable degree (completed by August 1, 2021) in either industrial engineering, industrial technology, engineering technology, robotics (engineering), mechanical engineering, or a closely related field. Excellent communication skills are required. Experience working as an industrial engineer, professional registration/certification, teaching experience in higher education will be a plus.

Candidates with a terminal degree in a closely related field and expecting to complete their dissertation by August 1, 2022, will be considered. Previous academic experience is preferred.
 
Rank: In accordance with the University's standards, the Vice President for Academic Affairs awards initial rank at the time of employment. Completion of the dissertation is required for the rank of Assistant Professor.
