Job Summary:
The Welch Center Manager is responsible for the management of Lake Michigan Vintners tasting room, its social media, and the Lake Michigan Vintners Wine Club. Under the supervision of the Director of Wine and Viticulture Technology, the Welch Center Manger is responsible for Lake Michigan Vintners accounts receivable and accounts payable. The Welch Center Manager assists the Director in the recruiting of prospective Wine and Viticulture students and manages student work in tasting rooms and at other promotional events. The Welch Center Manager actively seeks out and participates in regional and local events which present opportunities to market both the Wine and Viticulture Technology Program as well as the wines of Lake Michigan Vintners.

Essential Functions:
1. Manages Wine and Viticulture student employment and assistance at the tasting room(s) and other promotional activities.2. Assists in the recruitment of prospective Wine and Viticulture students.3. Schedules and coordinates all Welch Center events.4. Maintains and cultivates a list of wine buyers and Wine Club members.5. Manages and coordinates all wine sales, Wine Club releases, and other winery consumer events.6. Actively participates in local and regional events which present marketing opportunities for Lake Michigan Vintners and the Wine and Viticulture Technology program.7. Manages Lake Michigan Vintners social media, website, and other marketing tools.8. Manages payroll for all Lake Michigan Vintners employees. 9. Manages accounts receivable and accounts payable for Lake Michigan Vintners. 10. Assists in the filing of documents required for federal and state licensing and reporting per TTB, FDA, MLCC and MDARD regulations.

Other Duties:
12. Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Wine and Viticulture Technology.

Accountabilities:
Under the general supervision of the Director of Wine and Viticulture Technology, the Welch Center Manager is accountable support of the Wine and Viticulture Technology program, Lake Michigan Vintners, and Welch Center, as well as the management of Lake Michigan Vintners, the sale and marketing of its wines, and the promotion of the Wine and Viticulture Technology Program.

Job Specifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or Communications or related field from an accredited institution is preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook required. Proficiency with Word Press, Microsoft Publisher, and Adobe Illustrator preferred. Two or more years of experience within the wine industry is preferred. Strong customer service skills and experience in the food and beverage industry is required. A high level of wine knowledge is essential. Prior wine wholesale sales experience preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer literacy are required.
