We are especially interested in candidates who possess expertise in the relationship between architectural design and urban form. This expertise could stem, for example, from experience with architectural projects sited in urban contexts, training and/or experience in urban design, or knowledge of urban histories and theories.

A strong candidate will have a successful track record of working with students, faculty, administration, and communities beyond the walls of an educational institution.

The expected start date for this position is August 1, 2022.

Position Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Teaching architectural design studios within the M.Arch. Program as well as teaching a seminar about urban form, the interrelationship between architecture and urbanism, and the history of cities.
  • Assisting in the preparation of documents required for the NAAB accreditation process, coordinating with the Director, Assistant Director, faculty, and staff in providing all required documents related to courses that were taught
  • Working in collaboration with the Community Outreach Coordinator to identify and develop studio projects for student and community engagement in the first and second years of the program
  • Collaborating with the Shop Coordinator to develop projects and building assignments that contribute to the curricular model of the program
  • Advising the Director on the selection of visiting critics for interim and final reviews
  • Collaborating with faculty to exhibit student work in the gallery as part of end-of-year exhibitions
  • Successful candidates will receive benefits in addition to salary, including the ability to apply for travel grants from Indiana University
